The synthesis and characterization of 2,5-bis[1-methyl-2-hydroxyethyl)amino)]-1,4-quinone

Abstract:
Quinones are compounds with a conjugated 6-membered cyclic dione structure. They can inhibit and kill bacteria, so they are used to make preservatives, synthetic reagents, medicines, dyes, etc. This article (我不知道的你的“文”是指短文、论文还是什么，这个自己改一下) will discuss how to synthesize 2,5-bis[(1-methyl-2-hydroxyethyl)amino)]-1,4-quinone from quinol and isopropanolamine, with ethanol as the solvent. Conditional experiments have shown that the best yield, 65.31%, is achieved with mole ratio of quinol and isopropanolamine as 1 to 4, reaction temperature as 50 degrees centigrade and reaction time as 3 hours. The characterization of the product is done by infrared and ultraviolet (或者简单一点，IR and UV) spectrophotometry.
