about 与 around在表示“大约”时有什么区别？

没什么区别，只不过about常用于英式英语。around常用于美式英语。

about 表示大约时的用法很广，大部分情况下都能用。而around则仅仅是表示时间时才用。

around 指不确定的"大约",是 "从一处到另一处,去…各处："about 强调 "在指明的范围内从一处到另一处"

about 经常用作介词表示关于 如: I care about you. 但有时也做副词 如 I am considering this request about.
around 经常做介词表示围绕。如: The stars are around you. 有时也会做副词 如: what comes around goes around.
2者有时的确可以通用，如果非要说出2者的区别那就是2者都表示围绕，关于，但是around表示空间位置感更强烈一些。

也可以说I take the book about the area. 但很明显，around the area 更好一些。

没有区别，意思一样。
