The chinese phrase wailaici (loan words) means that these words are borrowed from other languages by chinese . They enjoyed various sources such as English and Japanese. The apperance of these loan words is a gradual process as well as the result of cultural intercourse , scientific development and multilateral language contact. The four major categories of loan words are transliterated words ，transmeaning words , demi -transliterated and demi-transmeaning words and letter words. A current trend is surging that transmeaning words reoccurred these days and letter words were born. This thesis base its ground on the hottest issues like the problems of virtual loan words , the mixture of both English and Chinese, zero translation words and the abuse of letter words. On account of the confusion these problems caused in our accurate usage of Chinese, we shall lay extra emphasis on the regulation of Chinese loan words and searching for effective ways to regulate the group of loan words.
