People can always hear (or read about) words like "language has life-like qualities". But, few really ponder over matters such as what the basis of this statement is, or why it is true. In fact, anything that is characterized by life is always in constant change, which is exactly a major feature of language. As the use of idioms in contemporary English is trending upwards, hereon, I will take it into further elaboration.
