可敬的"傻子"
一九六零年八月,驻地抚顺发洪水,运输连接到了抗洪抢险命令.雷锋忍着刚刚参加救火被烧伤的手的疼痛又和战友们在上寺水库大坝连续奋战了七天七夜,被记了一次二等功.

团结友爱
雷锋把自己的藏书拿出来供大家学习，被人们称为“小小的雷锋图书馆“。他帮助同志学习知识，同班战友乔安山文化程度低，雷锋就手把手地教他认字，学算术。同班战友小周父亲得了重病雷锋知道后以小周的名义给家里写了信又寄去10元钱。战友小韩在夜里的出车中棉裤被硫酸水烧了几个洞，雷锋值班回来发现后，把自己的帽子拆下来一针一针地为小韩补好裤了，轻轻地盖在他身上。知道这个情况的乔安山说：“为了给你补裤子，雷锋半宿都没睡！”

人民的勤务员

一次雷锋外出在沈阳站换车的时候，一出检票口，发现一群人围看一个背着小孩的中年妇女，原来这位妇女从山东去吉林看丈夫，车票和钱丢了。雷锋用自己的津贴费买了一张去吉林的火车票塞到大嫂手里，大嫂含着眼泪说：“大兄弟，你叫什么名字，是哪个单位的？“雷锋说：“我叫解放军，就住在中国”。

雷锋就是选择永不停息地，全心全意地为人民做好事，难怪人们一见到为人民做好事的人就想起雷锋。

孩子们的知心人
一九六零年十月以后，雷锋先后担任了抚顺市建设街小学（即现在的雷锋小学）和本溪路小学校外辅导员。
雷锋平时工作．学习都很忙，他只能利用午休时间或风雨天不能出车的日子请假到学校去找教师，同学谈心，或进行其他辅导活动。他善于团结小朋友，启发他们好好学习，天天向上。
雷锋以高度的使命感．责任感,辛勤培养下一代茁壮成长。共表团抚顺市委为表彰雷锋的事迹，曾于一九六二年五月二十八日颁发奖状，上面写着：“奖给优秀辅导员雷锋同志，保持光荣，继续前进”。

一九六一年九月，全团上下一致推举雷锋为抚顺市人大代表。
雷锋参加完人代会回到连里就担任了二排四班班长，在他的带领下，四班成了“四好班“，雷锋也成了全连的四好班长。
