The total class hours of the course: 40
Credit: 2.5
Target: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Finance)
Type of the course: specialized core course/compulsory course
Econometric Analysis, based on qualitative analysis of social and economic phenomena, discusses how to describe the applied economics branch quantitatively by the use of statistical model methods in which economic variables have the characteristics of randomness. Econometric Analysis is a professional core course which is extensively used in the economic management and forecast, monetary and fiscal, enterprise management and market forecast etc. Prerequisite courses are Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Probability theory, Mathematical statistics, etc.
The students can master the basic econometric analysis knowledge, use sample data of economic system to construct economic measurement model, master basic estimation theory and inspection method of model, and employ the model to do econometric analysis work.
The contents of the course mainly include single variate linear regression model, multivariate linear regression model, virtual variable model, lag variable model, test of model setup error and etc. Teaching should be closely around the basic theory and unfoldedapplication methods of econometric analysis to enable the students to gradually grasp its basic method in which the application of econometric analysis softwareshould be appropriately introduced and training topic after school, establishing measuring economic model by the use of econometric analysis software, should be arranged to enhance the students' practical ability of application.
