"The Simpsons" are no longer the great series I used to know, but it is
still one of the most important and influential animated series ever
made. During the shows golden age (From the early to mid of the
nineties) the show was extremely original, not only because it was one
of the few animated shows made for an adult audience, but also because
of the particular style of it, which was incredibly clever and
satirical, with subversive humor made it stand out not only as a
television cartoon, but as a comedy. Too bad that for younger people
who have spent their adolescent years watching shows like South Park
and Family Guy(whose brand of humor is very much derived from The
Simpsons) it is probably quite hard to appreciate just how
groundbreaking (and hilariously funny) the yellow skinned family and
their show were back in their best days.
