Mr. Smith was killed at 10 p.m. on 1 December, in his afternoon. Someone shot him through the heart. Both his hands and feet were tied tightly. But the money in the drawer by the bed was still there. Nothing was stolen.
There are three suspects- Mrs. Smith ( Mr. Smith’s wife), Eric Smith (their son), and David ( Mr. Smith’s boss). Everyone has the motive to kill him. Mrs. Smith can get all her husband’s money if Mr. Smith is dead while Eric wants to marry his girlfriend, Linda, but his father hated her. As for David, Mr. Smith knows a big secret about him. He is worried that one day he might be fired because of the secret and Mr. Smith might take ove.
I think David is the murderer. He went to Mr. Smith’s house and tied him up. He then made a phone call to his friend, saying that he was calling from home. While he was talking to his friend, he killed Mr. Smith.
The police should make a further investigation into the case and arrest David as soon as possible.

Dear Angela
I heard that you are going on holiday this summer. That will be great fun and you can relax after the final examination.
You said that you are not sure which town to go to. In my opinion, I prefer Mega to Titan.
Here are my reasons: First, you can go to to Mega by air and it is faster than by train. Although
it is more expensive, I think it is worthwhile. Second, the temperature in Mega is higher, around 33℃. The weather is more comfortable than that of Titan. Since you love swimming, I think you can have more fun on the beach in Mega. Third, the room rate is cheaper than that in Titan and the food is more delicious too. Finally, there are no cars in Mega, so it is much safer to walk in Mega than in Titan.
Anyway, just enjoy yourself and have a lot of fun. I wish you a happy holiday.
Yours
Lucy

I’m going to visit my grandparents during the winter holiday. They are over 80 and are now living in a mountain village. I haven’t seen them for a long time and miss them so much. Meanwhile, it is a tradition to visit the elderly during the Chinese New Year.
I will go there by train and bus and I’m going to stay with them for two weeks. I’m going to climb the mountains and visit some old houses near my grandparents’ home. That will be great fun.
I’m looking forward to my winter holiday and I’m quite excited. I’m sure that I will have a good time.

One day, my father went to see the god Bacchus. He asked Bacchus for the Golden Touch. Bacchus gave him his wish. On his way home, my father touched a tree and it became a gold tree. My father was excited.
When my father arrived home, he touched all the knives and forks and spoons and they all turned to gold. He could not eat anything because all the food turned to gold when he touched them.
To my honor, my father also touched me and I turned to gold immediately. My sister told him to go back to Bachus and ask him for help. And the god told my father to wash his hand in the River Bactolus. My father did what the god said and the Golden Touch left him. Then he touched me again and thank god. I came back to life.

We have moved the lion into a larger cage. It has more space, and now it can move easily. There is
no problem with the tiger. Tigers always sleep in the afternoon, especially in summer.
We do have a big problem with the fish. We put a big notice near the aquariums immediately. It
warms visitors strongly. “Don’t feed the fish! Penalty-¥1,000”
I have told the restaurant staff to speak politely to visitors. We have put three more rubbish bins
near the restaurant recently.
