revise和amend的区别

一、含义不同

1、revise   n. 校订；修正

例句：A method to revise the radius of switch probes is also put forward.

2、amend   vt. 修改；改进

例句：Please amend your copy of the contract accordingly.

译文：请将你的合同文本作相应的修改。

1、revise

revise a book 修订书；revise a contract 修改合同；

revise an edition 修订版本；revise one's opinion of 改变对…的看法

2、amend

amend a document 修正文件；amend an error 纠错；

三、用法不同

1、revise 基本意思是“修正”，用作名词（n.）

例句：The market turmoil has spurred economists to revise their forecasts.

译文：当前的市场动荡已促使经济学家们重新修正自己的预测数据。

2、amend 基本意思是“修改，改进”，用做及物动词（vt.）

例句：I would advise you to amend your manners.

译文：我劝你改正你的态度

amend强调“修正”，即把文章，合同等往好的，正确的方向去改；revise则泛指“修改”，不一定是改好，强调“改变”
